How to “Do” Life from Beingness
with Alex Boianghu
Life is about doing—work, relationships, eating, hygiene are just a few things in a seemingly never-ending list. Life is also about being—being connected with your true nature, the infinite self, the deeper currents of life, and much more. They seem like separate things, but the spiritual journey of life is about expanding to beingness and let the doing and the activities in life flow from there.
In this fourth episode of our series The Journey of Wholeness, meditation teacher & psycho-spiritual therapist Alex Boianghu and I discuss what being and doing are, as well as practical way to cultivate being in a doing-oriented world.
Also, these juicy topics:
People often try to relieve the things that they attribute suffering to, like money, health, painful relationships and so on, without realizing that suffering simply attaches to another external manifestation, and that to relieve suffering, you need to work with the cause of suffering itself, which is grasping for something that you feel is missing.
Most people learn to associate particular activities or “doings” with certain social or other rewards, which leads to trying to use these “doings” to come into the state of being. This doesn’t work, but Alex lays out how this pattern works so that you can identify where you do this and what to do instead.
The hidden anxiety to look for that can open you to beingness if you know how to work with it, as well as practical ways to let go of this anxiety so that you can experience your true nature.
What embodiment is, why it is the key to doing while being, and simple, direct ways to experience and cultivate embodiment.
How desire and hope can get in the way of beingness, embodiment and connection with your true nature, as well as how to recognize them and what to do instead.
Why the doing part of you is not the originator, or even the whole experiencer of your life and choices, and why mis-identifying the “me” at the center of your experience is the real issue
