Kristine Madera

Most people spend their lives following a script they didn’t write. I was no different—until the day I stood in my backyard at age seven, shaking my fist at the universe, demanding answers. And wouldn’t you know it, the universe answered.

What I got was a life-altering moment of what I now call “Unity Consciousness”—a profound sense of connection to everything. At seven, I didn’t have the vocabulary to explain it, but I knew one thing: the world wasn’t what I’d been told. That realization sparked a lifelong curiosity to uncover what’s real, what’s possible, and how we can break free from the mental noise and outdated stories that keep us stuck.

The Journey

That curiosity led me out into the world—literally. From an exchange program in Australia to teaching English in Japan, solo backpacking through China and Russia as the Soviet Union fell (a whole other story), and volunteering with the Peace Corps in Papua New Guinea, I’ve spent my life exploring the unfamiliar. Travel became my greatest teacher, showing me how stepping into the unknown strips away the layers of cultural conditioning and reveals who you truly are.

Along the way, I earned a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Japanese, and a master’s in Intercultural Relations. But honestly? The real education came from navigating the chaos of different cultures, embracing discomfort, and learning to trust my intuition when nothing else made sense.

And writing? That’s where I process it all. Whether crafting novels inspired by my adventures or diving deep into reflections on self-discovery, writing has always been my way of exploring the human experience—and the stories we carry.

Volunteering at Mother Teresa’s Home for the Dying in Calcutta inspired my novel, God in Drag Read the first Chapter of God in Drag HERE

My upcoming novel, The Snakeman’s Wife, sparked to life when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Papua New Guinea.

The Turning Point

In 2019, life threw me a curveball in the form of a concussion. Suddenly, I couldn’t write, work, or even think straight. It was humbling—and also the reset I didn’t know I needed. That period forced me to reconnect with the part of me that knows how to navigate life from a place of inner wisdom and clarity. Turns out, the universe has a sense of humor.

Twists and turns since then culminated in Rewriting Your Reality. It’s my mission to help people like you break free from the mental clutter and outdated paradigms that keep us in reaction mode. In a world that’s changing faster than ever, adaptability, resilience, and inner wisdom aren’t just nice-to-haves—they’re essential tools for thriving.
